केही समय अगाडी हामी चार जना साथीहरु भेडेटार घुम्न गएका थियौँ । त्यहाँबाट फर्कने बेलामा धरानमा बराह क्षेत्र नजिकै रहेको थाहा पायौ । सधैं घुम्नको लागि फुर्सद पनि नहुने, त्यहाँसम्म आइपुगेको बेला बराहक्षेत्र पनि पुगिहालौं न त भनेर बराह क्षेत्र गयौं । एकदिन हामि बराह क्षेत्रमा नै बस्यौँ ।
भोलिपल्ट म बिरामी भएं । विहानै बान्ता र पेट असाध्यै दुख्ने भयो । त्यहाँ वरिपरि अस्पताल पनि रहेनछ । त्यहाँकै मान्छेले चतरा बजारमा मेडिकल भएको बताए । चतरा आएर त्यहीको एक मान्छे लाई सोध्दा त्यहाँपनि अस्पताल नभएको बताए । तिनै व्यक्तिले कृष्णराज महाराज जीको मा जान सल्लाह दिए र उहाँले आयुर्वेदिक औषधिको प्रयोग बाट तु निको पार्नुहुन्छ भने । त्यहाँबाट धरान पुग्नु अझै १ घण्टा जति लाग्ने थियो । मलाई पेट अति नै दुखिराथ्यो , फेरि बीचमा ३ पटक बान्ता पनि भएको थियो, त्यसैले पहिला त्यहि व्यक्तिले भनेको ठाउँमा जाने निर्णय ग¥यौ । मैले त्यहाँ आयुर्वेदिक अस्पताल होला भन्ने सोचेको थिएँ, तर त्यस्तो कुनै अस्पताल होइन रहेछ । त्यहाँ रहेको होडिङ्ग बोर्डमा “ जगद्गुरु रामानन्दाचार्य सेवा पिठ” लेखिएको थियो । हामी पुग्दा त्यहाँ १४–१५ जना मानिसहरु पनि उपचारकै लागि आएका रहेछन् । नाम लेखाएर पालो कुर्नु पर्ने रहेछ । साथिहरुले मेरो नाम लेखाईदिए । त्यहाँ खुलामञ्च जति ठाउँमा वरिपरि बाँसले बाँध लगाएर ति बाबाले आफ्नो आश्रम बनाएका रहेछन् । त्यहाँ एउटा कोण प्रकारको सुन्दर घर थियो । आउँदाखेरि त्यसैलाई मैले अस्पताल सम्झेको थिए । त्यो चाहिं तिनै बाबाको बस्ने घर रहेछ । त्यहाँका मान्छे त्यसलाई गुरुकुरी भन्दा रहेछन् । अरु ३–४ वटा छाप्रो जस्ता कच्चि घरहरु थिए । तिनै मध्ये एउटा चाहि बिरामीहरुको उपचार गर्ने ठाउँ रहेछ । पेट त असाध्ये दुखिराथ्यो तर पनि १ घण्टै पालो कुर्नुप¥यो । त्यतिन्जेल त्यहाँका मान्छेले बाबाका बारे अचम्मका कुरा सुनाए । जुन हामिले जीवनमा कहिल्यै सुनेका थिएनौ । ति बाबाले केहीबर्ष अगाडि त्यही ठाउँमा ९ दिनसम्म खाल्डोमा पुरिएर तपस्या गरेका थिए रे, त्यो पनि बिना अक्सिजन रे । अनि ति बाबाले नाडी छामेरै बिरामीको सबै रोग पत्ता लगाउन सक्छन् रे । ति बाबाले एड्स, क्यान्सर, पक्षघात जस्ता रोगको पनि उपचार गरेर निको बनाएका छन् रे । अर्को रमाइलो कुरा केही बर्ष अगाडी माओवादी अध्यक्ष प्रचण्डले भैसी पुजा गरेको ठाउँ त्यही रहेछ । त्यसबेला त्यहाँ भव्य आयुर्वेद शिविर चलेको रहेछ । त्यहाँ आउने बाटोमा एउटा राम्रो घर देखेका थियौं, त्यो चाहिं नेपालका जगद्गुरु बालसन्त महाराजको रहेछ । र तिनै बालसन्त महाराजले नै ति बाबालाई त्यहाँ ल्याउनुभएको भन्थे । कृष्णदास बाबाको बारेमा त्यति धेरै अकल्पनिय कुराहरु सुनिरहदाँ उहाँलाई भेट्ने कौतुहल भइराथ्यो । बिचमा मलाई पहिला चेक गराउने व्यवस्था मिलाए । मसँगै अरु तिनै जना साथिहरु प्नि भित्र आए । भित्र पुग्दा त्यहाँ ५ जना व्यक्तिहरु थिए । २ जना खाटमा पलेटिमारेर बसेका थिए २ जना मेचमा र १ जना गुन्द्रिमा , मेचमा बसेको १ जना विरामी र तल बसेका तिनकै मान्छे रहेछन् । अर्को मेचमा १ मधेसि मुलका व्यक्ति थिए । खाटमा बसेका १ कृष्णदास बाबा हुन भने र चिन्न गाह्रो भएन बाहिर बोर्डमा उनको फोटो थियो र तल श्री श्री १००८ डा. कृष्णदास महाराज जी लेखिएको थियो । अर्को उनिभन्दा अलि बुढा रहेछन् उनी बाबाको गुरु रहेछन् । ति मधेसी मुलका व्यक्ति आयुर्वेदिक डाक्टर रहेछन् । सँगै सिरकमा भएको विरामीको ती डाक्टर र अर्का गुरुले चेकिङ्ग गर्दै थिए । अघि नाम लेखाएको पर्चामा मेरो ठेगाना काठमाडौ लेखिएको थियो । ति कृष्णादास बाबाले काठमाडौ आउनुभएको भनेर सोधे । मैले हनुर भनें । उनले त हामीलाई काठमाडौबाटै त्यहाँ उपचार गराउन आएको सम्झेछन् । हुन पनि त्यहाँ उपचार गराउन टाढा टाढाबाट मान्छेहरु आउने रहेछन् । के भएर आउनुभएको ? भनेर उनले अर्को प्रश्न सोधे । मैले पेट असाध्यै दुखिराछ भने । एउटा साथीले बान्ता गरेको ग¥यौ छ भनेर थपिदियो । उनले पहिला पनि यस्तो हुन्थ्यो भनेर सोधे । मैले अँ कहिलेकाही भने । त्यसपछि उनले मेरो नाडी समाते । दिसा कस्तो छ ? खाना के खानुभयो ? पेट पोलेको छ कि छैन ? जस्ता सामान्य प्रश्नहरु सोधे त्यही अनुसार उत्तर दिए । अर्को सिरको बिरामी पनि त्यस्तै चेकिङ्ग भइराथ्यो डाक्टर राम्ररी नेपाली बोल्न नसक्ने रहेछ । भारतिय हो कि भन्ने शंका लाग्यो , अर्का गुरु विरामीको नाडी समातेर रोग विचार गर्दै थिए । त्यो विरामी चाँहि आफुलाई बेलाबेलामा टाउको दुख्छ भन्दै थियो । बिचमा कृष्णदास बाबाको फोन आयो ५–६ मिनेट जति कुरा गरे, कुनै व्यक्तिलाई के कामहो पैसा दिन सक्दिन भनेर चर्केर कुरा गर्दै थिए , पछि फोन काटिदिए । मेरो नाडीमा ध्यान लगाए ३–४ मिनेट पछि भने तपाइको आन्द्रामा घाउ हुन लागेको छ । सुरुवाति अवस्था छ । ३–४ महिना लगातार औषधि सेवन गरेमा निको हुन्छ । यो कुरा उनले नाडि हेरेको भरमा भनेका थिए । अर्को विरामीको पनि त्यस्तै तरिकाले रोग भनियो । उनको रोग चाहिँ सामान्य चिन्ता आदिले भएको रे तर असर भने भएङ्कर हुन सक्छ रे । पछि कृष्णदास बाबाले नै सँगैको व्यक्तिलाई आफ्नो गुरु भएको बताए । र उनलाई पनि मेरो नाडी चेक गर्न भने । उनले पनि बाबाकै कुरामा सही थपे र अझ अङ्कुसे जातका जुकाहरुले आन्द्रामा घाउ बनाएको रे । उनले भएको औषधिमा कृमिध्न बटी र विडंगारिष्ट भन्ने औषधि थपिदिन भने । अर्को विरामीलाई डाक्टरले केहि औषधि लेखिदिए र केही योग गर्न सिकाएर पठाए । “महाराज जी, नाडी चेक गरेर शरीरको सबै रोग पत्ता लाग्छ त ? अरु मान्छेहरुले ति बाबालाई महाराज ज ीभने र सम्बोधन गरेकोले मेरो साथीले पनि त्यसैगरी सोध्यो । त्यसपछि बाबाले नाडी परिक्षाको बारेमा बताए । नाडी परिक्षा भन्ने कुरो रावणले सुरु गरेका अरे । जस्तो पायो त्यस्तै व्यक्तिले नाडि परिक्षा सिक्नै सक्दैन अरे । नाडि परिक्षा ज्ञान अनुभव र साधनबाट हुन्छ रे । यस्तै यस्तै । अर्का गुरुले पनि थपिदिए नाडी परिक्षा बाट थाहा नहुने संसारमा कुनै रोग नै छैन रे । अनि नाडी परिक्षाबाट शरिरको एक एक केमिकलको बारेमा थाहा पाउन सकिन्छ अरे ।
Kerala will host a mega Global Ayurveda Festival, packed with buyer-seller meet, health expo, expert clinics, international seminar and students meet, from February 9 to 14, 2012 at Thiruvananthapuram.
The event, being organised by the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) in association with the Ayurveda Department of the State Government, Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) and Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organisation of India (AMMOI), aims at promoting the sector in the country and abroad.
The six-day festival is also an attempt to regain the old glory of Ayurveda in Kerala which is the cradle of this branch of medicine. The grand exhibition will also have medicinal plants, herbal products, food fete, apart from deliberations on regulatory and industry aspects, said CISSA general secretary Dr C Suresh Kumar in a statement.
Different universities, medical colleges and research organisations in the sector will put up programmes to ramp up the public awareness about this branch of medicine. AYUSH(Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, and Homoeopathy) clinics, consultation by traditional practitioners, stalls of resorts that are into Ayurveda medical tourism, Ayurveda food courts along with diet counselling, and display of medicinal plants for herbal formulations will be among other attractions, he added.
The preparations for the event were kicked off on Thursday with Kerala Health Minister Adoor Prakash releasing the brochure. The Minister, while urging the Ayurveda manufacturers not to be led by profit motives, disclosed that the State government was taking pro-active steps including across-the-table negotiations with the pharma companies and market intervention through government agencies to control the prices of essential drugs in the State.

When increasing your intake of high-fiber foods, it's important to drink plenty of fluids. Liquids help the body to digest fiber, and provide constipation relief by adding bulk to stools (which makes bowel movements easier). Aim for eight glasses of water per day.
Magnesium-Rich Foods for Constipation Relief
There's some evidence that running low on magnesium may increase your constipation risk. For instance, a 2007 study of 3,835 women (published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition) found that those with the lowest magnesium intake were the most likely to experience constipation.
Adult males ages 19 to 30 need 400 mg of magnesium daily, while men ages 31 and up need 420 mg. Adult females ages 19 to 30 need 310 mg daily, and women ages 31 and up need 320 mg.

An estimated 50 million Americans suffer from chronic pain, according to the American Pain Foundation. That’s a lot of pain. And that adds up to a lot of drug use, notably the category called NSAID’s, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), diclofenac (Voltaren) and Celebrex belong to this class of drugs. These drugs are designed to inhibit activity of what is known as the COX2 enzyme, a major factor in pain. This natural enzyme is created in all of us, and is responsible for the production of some of the agents called prostaglandins, which trigger pain and inflammation.
The role of inflammation in pain is pretty straightforward. Any of a variety of insults can cause inflammation in the tissues of our bodies. External insults like burns, bites, scrapes, stings, cuts and bruises cause skin tissue to swell as protective fluids pour into damaged tissue between cells. Nerves may also be directly hurt. All of this activity is accompanied by pain. This is also the case with internal insults that may be diet-related or the result of wear and tear. Aging joints and ligaments can become occasionally or chronically inflamed, resulting in pain. Inflammation is now recognized as a key factor in virtually all chronic and degenerative diseases, including arthritis, heart disease, asthma, neurodegeneration, cancer, and kidney and bowel diseases. The idea behind anti-inflammatory drugs is simple. Stop the inflammation; stop the pain.
The NSAID’s are COX-2 inhibitors. They do accomplish this, but along the way they can also cause liver and kidney damage, and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. A recently published study reveals even greater risks to these drugs. In the study Danish researchers found that use of NSAID’s among heart attack survivors greatly increased their risk of a repeat heart attack. This risk persisted even six months after the heart attack, and even if the use of the drugs was brief. Translation: for those who have had a heart attack or stroke, the NSAID’s pose a real danger.
Meanwhile, a recent study of acetaminophen (Tylenol) showed that those who take the drug are at an increased risk of some blood cancers. Acetaminophen use is also the leading cause of drug-induced liver failure in the United States. Though acetaminophen is not an NSAID, it poses significant health hazards nonetheless.

For the first time, the India government will carry out a survey on the use and acceptability of the alternative systems of medicine and employ the results for effective planning of a road map for Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH).
The National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) has agreed to include some questions, in its Consumer Expenditure Schedule for the 68th annual round of socio-economic surveys, for collecting information on AYUSH.
