Dyspepsia

Dyspepsia is a pain or an uncomfortable feeling in the upper middle part of stomach. The pain might come and go, but it's usually there most of the time.
Clinical Features of dyspepsia
• A gnawing or burning stomach pain
• Bloating
• Heartburn
• Nausea (upset stomach)
• Vomiting
• Burping

causes of dyspepsia
Often, dyspepsia is caused by a stomach ulcer or acid reflux disease. If you have acid reflux disease, stomach acid backs up into your esophagus (the tube leading from your mouth to your stomach). This causes pain in your chest. Some medicines, like anti-inflammatory medicines, can cause dyspepsia. Sometimes no cause of dyspepsia can be found.

Home remedies
Herbs that can be used as home remedies are
Aduwa or Sunthi or Ginger or Zingiber officinalis
Jwano / Ajwain or Bishop’s weed or Tachyspermum ammi
Jeera / Cumin seeds or Cuminum cyminum
Hing or Asafetida or Ferula asafetida
Pudina or Mint or Mentha arvesis
Gurjo/ Guduchi or Tinospora cordifolia
Jamun or Indian blackberry or Eugenia jambolana
these herbs can be  used either as powder or decotion.
Here are some examples:
Cumin Seeds - Take two tablespoons cumin seeds and add them to four and a half cups of water. Boil the mixture for a minute. Now allow the water to cool. Now you can easily drink a glassful, two times daily for a few days.
Lemon Juice and Honey - A glass of hot tap water with a teaspoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice might 
Jwano / Ajwain helps to digest foods with greater water content. Even if the indigestion is caused due to excessive amount of water, taking a few  Jwano / Ajwain  seeds over it will help in clearing the stomach congestion.
One part of tulsi is mixed with two parts of ginger and two parts of jaggery. This is broken down into small pellets. Consuming one of these pellets each every morning and evening helps in proper digestion and also creates a good appetite.

Doses & administration : Adult: 2 tablets twice a day.  Children: 1 tablet twice a day. To be taken orally with water before meal.

Important Points
• If you smoke, stop smoking.
• If some foods bother your stomach, try to avoid eating them.
• Try to reduce the stress in your life.
• If you have acid reflux, don't eat right before bedtime. Raising the head of your bed with blocks under two legs may also help.
• Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, don't take a lot of anti-inflammatory medicines like ibuprofen, aspirin.
