Nepal Ayurveda Medical Students' Society (NAMSS)

Introduction:
Nepal Ayurveda medical students' society is a non-profit making, non-political organization run by the BAMS (Bachelor in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery, 51/2 years course) students studying in Ayurveda Campus, Institute of Medicine, Kirtipur. It has long been working since 1998 for the promotion and development of Ayurveda. It also works for the enhancement of the educational and intellectual quality of BAMS students. NAMSS has got the great advisory bodies such as Campus chief of Ayurveda Campus; President of Ayurvedic Doctors' Association Nepal; Director of Naradevi Hospital and Department of Ayurveda.

NAMSS has been routinely publishing Graduation issue with the view of disseminating the recent find out, activities and other information; and increasing public awareness about Ayurveda. Besides these, Farewell & welcome programmes for BAMS students, interactions & seminar between different stakeholders and resource persons on Ayurveda and Ayurveda related issues are only a small list among our routine programs. We are also involving on collection and plantation of different medicinal herbs.

Objectives:
a) To publish different magazines and Newspapers as a mouthpiece of NAMSS with a view to promoting the Ayurveda system and its field.
b) To organize various programs like seminar, workshop and interaction in order to identify and find out the way of resolving the Ayurveda related problems.
c) To counsel and put recommendation to authorized bodies while promulgating the Ayurveda policies.
d) To establish bilateral relationship with national and international organizations and institutions and work in collaboration for the fortification of Ayurveda.
e) To work for the betterment of Ayurveda Campus and its students.
f) To conserve the identified and unidentified or unknowingly ignored medicinal plants those are dispersed throughout Nepal and make them therapeutically usable doing appropriate Research.
g) To help to the authorized bodies to pave the way for Master and P.H.D level study in Nepal and to make a proper arrangement to study Ayurveda for the foreigner.
